Kati Huovinmaa

I'm a professional mentor with a passion for helping individuals and organizations find their core values and happiness in working life. My goal is to change the status quo so that the future looks bright and optimistic. Trusting the process, I step back a bit and let my mentees shine in the leading role.

Mentoring is about removing obstacles and achieving goals

As a professional mentor, my motto is: if the change is not radical, why bother to change? Welcome to start a radical, positive change with me!

Individual mentoring provides clarity, courage, and practical tools for achieving your goals. Few succeed in comprehensive changes on their own; many have succeeded with me. Individual mentoring is beneficial regardless of your title, role, or work experience.

Goal-oriented individual mentoring includes:

• Radical and comprehensive career changes or smaller ones
• Clarifying your strengths, opportunities, and direction
• The significance and realization of your values

Individual mentoring is an investment in your own skills and development. The difference between coaching and professional mentoring is that a mentor can provide concrete advice. Professional mentoring is provided by trained and experienced professionals. I adhere to the ethical guidelines of the European Mentoring & Coaching Council in my work. I am a Certified Business Mentor, and my professional mentoring services are fee-based.

This is how individual mentoring progresses:

1. Pre-considerations tailored to your situation
2. The first meeting sets the goals
3. Goals are promoted with interim tasks
4. You can contact the mentor between meetings
5. The final meeting ensures the benefits

Feedback

“I spoke to Kati about my impostor syndrome and how this was making it difficult for me to accept a very good job offer. Kati listened to me and I felt very comfortable opening up to her about what I was going through. She helped me to see the situation from a different perspective and to think more about the great things I've done, rather than focusing on the ones I don't know how to do yet. She also gave me very good book recommendations! Kati, thank you for your time and your kindness!"
– Isabelle from Berlin (The Mentoring Club)

“Five stars! Kati asked insightful questions that genuinely made me stop and think bringing attention to things I had overlooked. I left the session with much greater clarity, which is all you can ask of a mentor. I can highly recommend Kati to help you work through situations.”
– David Igoe (The Mentoring Club)

“I'm going through my 20's. And I realized that I was having problems with my daily schedule and development process. I was facing procrastination and loved unconsciously staying in my comfort zone. I'll describe what I gained from Kati during our two sessions: First thing first, She is a very good listener, and in addition to that, incredibly friendly. She shared some valuable tips to overcome procrastination and gave me the following, most valuable advice: ”Give time, some time. And Time will heal everything for you." It struck me in a good way. Changes take time, and the more time it takes, the more effective the impact is on your life. And at the age I'm in right now, I shouldn’t rush for any change immediately, rather I should enjoy the process. Kati taught me to encounter my issues one by one, in a very relaxed and playful manner. And It's actually fun, seeing myself changing, slowly but surely.”
 Happy and contented mentee
